Jeff lives alone with just his 3 caged birds to keep him company but he has very little mobility as a result of his medical condition and many years sitting in a chair, not even sleeping in his bed. His home had become extremely cluttered causing serious issues with safety for any carers or visitors. There was also a fire risk because of the many electrical items in his home with trailing wires waiting to cause trips and falls.
With the help of his Care Manager, we completely cleared the room that he lives in and organised a specialised bed for him to use. This also enabled easy access to all visitors and removed the potential risks that existed before we were involved.
We support a couple whose home was not suitable for one of them to move around as a result of their immobility and the layout of their home. We helped make a few alterations to allow access out of the bedroom into the rest of the house which opened up opportunities that were not available before.
Subsequently we have worked with them to enable full access around the house and into the garden which has resulted in our client being able to resume a lifelong hobby of working with wood in his shed at the top of the garden. This has developed over a period of time and, gradually their life style has significantly improved with their quality of life now substantially better.
Whereas before, everything seemed to be a struggle, with our help and the support from Social Services, our happy couple can look forward to enjoying their home and garden together.
