We provide support, help and guidance for our clients by listening and understanding what each individual needs to help improve their life. This might just be regular companionship or helping with the weekly shopping.
Many of our clients have learning difficulties and struggle to comprehend straightforward matters such as paying bills, writing a letter or making sure they attend a medical appointment. We help them by building a close relationship and encouraging them to do more things for themselves.
For those clients with mobility issues, we take them out to have a break from the same four walls and often we are the only people they see each week and therefore our visits are greatly anticipated, especially as they can get out and visit places they could not go to on their own.
As well as helping with shopping, domestic work and taking them out, we ensure that any medication they need is taken regularly, often prompting those whose condition causes them to forget things. Just being there on a regular basis provides our clients with companionship and reassurance and when you live alone these can make all the difference.
Providing respite to a spouse, partner or family member is a vital service that we offer. Looking after someone on a permanent basis takes its inevitable toll and our support enables them to have some valuable ‘Me time’ to help them recharge their batteries.
We work very closely with Social Services and have built a very good relationship with them which we are very proud of. Most of our clients have come from personal recommendations, from people who have been really pleased with how we have looked after them or a close member of their family.
